The highest honor a 4-H member can hope to receive is to be selected as a 4-H All Star. The West Virginia 4-H All Stars is an honorary organization that began in 1919 and becoming an All Star is meant to be a life-long extension of one's 4-H career. The organization is composed of older 4-H members and local 4-H club leaders who are selected for membership based on their life's record of achievement and service.
Samantha Wilson was inducted into the WV 4-H All Stars organization at Jackson's Mill Alpha II State 4-H Camp. As an individual an All Star continues to grow "in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man." He or she typifies fourfold development and encourages such growth in others.
Samantha is a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She is currently a freshman at West Virginia University where she is majoring in pre-nursing. After she graduates she hopes to become a Trauma Nurse and work in an E.R. Her activities include HSTA (Health Science Technology Academy), National Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta, WVU Campus Cup, and she is a WVU Maniac.
Sam has been a part of 4-H for ten years as a club member of the Mt. Zion Cardinals and Teen Leaders. Her awards in 4-H include; All Star Pin, Charting Pin, Health "H", Head "H", Heart "H", Citizenship Award, Blue and Gold, Green and White, Outstanding Brave, lucky nickel, and lucky penny.
