The CHS Varsity Volleyball team played in a tri match at Bridgeport High School on Wednesday, September 15.
Bridgeport defeated Calhoun in straight sets 25-18,25-21. Amber Wilford led the team in service points with 7 points, 3 aces; followed by Jordan Mace 4 points, Ashley Houchin 2 points, 1 ace; Rochelee Gewig 2 points, and Shayla Arnold 1 point. Setting: Houchin 57/58, 10 assists. Hitting: Wilford 14/16, 6 kills; Gerwig 10/12, 2 kills; Mace 8/9, 1 kill; Samantha Church 7/8, 1 kill and Karissa Reip 8/12.
In the second match of the evening, Calhoun defeated Parkersburg Catholic in straight sets 25-10, 25-14.

On Thursday, September 16 both the JV and Varsity played at Braxton County. The JV won25-11, 21-25, 25-18. Megan Barton led in service points with 14 points, 7 aces; followed by Stephanie Hall 12 points, 3 aces; Chelsea Hicks 11 points, 5 aces; Shayla Arnold 4 points, 3 aces; Bailie Cain 4 points, 2 aces;
Amanda Carter 3 points, 1 ace. Setting: Hicks 35/40, 12 assists. Hitting: Carter 10/14, 4 kills; Arnold 9/11, 5 kills; Hall 8/10, 2 kills; Barton 4/5, 1 kill.
The Varsity defeated Braxton County in straight sets 25-19, 25-16, 25-13. On Saturday, September 18 the Junior Varsity played in a JV Tournament at Parkersburg Catholic High School. Calhoun was defeated by Ripley 25-22, 25-20; Parkersburg South 25-21, 25-18 and Williamstown 25-23, 25-20.
Against Ripley, Stephanie Hall and Chelsea Hicks accounted for Calhoun total service points with Hall with 10 service points, 3 aces and Hicks with 8 points 1 ace. Setting: Hicks 40/44, 6 assists. Hitting:
Hall 7/10, 1 kill; Megan Barton 7/10, 3 kills; Amanda Carter 7/8, 1 kill; Autumn Blair 3/6, 1 kill;

Against Parkersburg South, Hall had 7 points, 2 aces; Hicks had 4 points, 1 ace; Shayla Arnold 2 service points, Magan Barton 1 and Amanda Carter 1. Setting: Hicks 38/41, 5 assists. Hitting:

Against Williamstown, Hicks had 4, 1 ace; Autumn Blair 3 points, 2 aces; Stephanie Hall 3 points, 2 aces;
Megan Barton 3 points, Amanda Carter 3 points, 1 ace, Bailie Cain 2 points. Setting: 33/37, 3 assists.

The Varsity will host a quad Tuesday evening with Roane, Braxton and Parkersburg Catholic. Both the Varsity and JV will be at home on Thursday with Gilmer County.
