Effie M. Huffman, 95, Of Fairfield, Ohio, formerly of Spencer, WV, went home to be with our
Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, April 15, 2002, while living at Community Multicare Center,
Fairfield, Ohio.
She was born October 25, 1906, in Spencer, a daughter of the late Augusta and Lydia Long.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Spencer. While
living in Fairfield, she was ministered to by the St. Mark's UM Church.
She moved to Fairfield in 1994 and made her home with her nephew, Don Long and his wife,
Mary.
Survivors in addition to Mr. and Mrs. Long include other nephews, nieces and many dear
friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence D. Huffman in
1976; three brothers, Arthur, Holly and Blaine Long and two sisters, Claudine Maynard and
Ruby Batten.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 19 at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral
Home, Spencer. The Reverend G. David Calvert, pastor of St. John's UM Church will
officiate. Burial will be in the Clover, Cemetery, Clover, WV. Friends may call at the funeral
home one hour prior to the service.
