Frances Yoak Davis, 92, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away August 16, 2010 at Minnie Hamilton Health System in Grantsville.
She was born January 18, 1918 on Norman Ridge near Big Bend, Calhoun County. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and attended Glenville State College. She was a life-long member of the Norman Ridge Church and loved to sing gospel music. She worked for the Foster Grandparent program for 18 years and loved children.
Surviving are a son, Dean Davis (Arletta); grandchildren, Tina (David) Little, Zola (Bucky) Bell, and Okey Davis; 6 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Okey; parents, Agnew and Thomas Yoak and Ellen Belle Metz Yoak; sons, Roger and Dennis Davis; 4 sisters, Phuea, Nelda, Mallie and Veda; 9 brothers, William, John, Oscar, Harley, Everett, Agnew, Loyal, James and Alva Yoak.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 18 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville with Reverends Carrol McCauley and Rick Metheney officiating. Interment will be in the Norman Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
