| Dorothy Jeffries, 72, of Cottageville, West Virginia, died Sunday, August 15, 2010 in the St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, after a short illness.
She was born October 21, 1937 at Reedy WV, a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson "Tommy" and Hattie Bell Bailey Sommerville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, F.M. Jeffries in 1998; two sisters, four brothers and twin grandchildren.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church, Cottageville.
Survivors include her children, Joyce Buckbee of Millwood, Larry Sommerville of Chatsworth, GA, Gary Sommerville, Roseanna Lane and Chrissy Rottgen all of Ravenswood; brother, Harry Sommerville of Reedy; sisters, Linda Smith of St. Albans and Jeanie Sargent of Parkersburg; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great grandchild expected in three weeks.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church, Cottageville, with the Rev. Mark Price officiating. Burial will be in the Jeffries Cemetery, Aplin Ridge.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
