Luvenia Grace Maze, 95, of Thornville, Ohio, went to her heavenly home at her daughter's residence on Aug. 2, 2010.
She was born Dec. 29, 1914 at Annamoriah, W.Va., the daughter of the late Ebby and Luvenia Smith Maze. Luvenia was a homemaker and was a member of Harrison Street UM Church, Harrisville, where she taught Sunday School for 16 years. She was an avid reader and loved gardening, singing and going to church. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, her cats and birds.
She will be sadly missed by her family, including two sons, Billie W. Maze of Harrisville, and Charles L. Maze of Elyria, Ohio; two daughters, Mary Greathouse of Warren, Ohio and Ona Bell Sims of Thornville, Ohio; half-sister, Ethel Rader, of Mt. Zion, W.Va.; several grandchildren; great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Maze was preceded in death by her husband, William Glen Maze; son, Gerald Maze; sisters, Frankie Davis, Laurie Maze; two infant brothers; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Harrison Street UM Church, Harrisville with Rev. Eddy Howard, Rev. John Frum and Rev. Carl DeVaughn officiating. Burial will follow at the Maze Cemetery, Munday Road, W.Va.
The family will receive friends at the home of Billie Maze, 225 Dogwood Lane, Harrisville, Friday from 2-8 p.m., and also Saturday from noon-1 p.m. at the church.
