MORGANTOWN YOUTH SHOT AT PARTY - The shooting of a 19-year-old man at a Morgantown house party is being described as an isolated incident.
The 19-year-old was shot in the back after a partygoer opened fire on the crowd. He is in a Morgantown hospital in ICU.
Police say at least 20 people were on a porch in the Sunnyside section when the shooter opened fire.
Some people at the party started fighting and one man said he was "leaving to go get a gun," said Detective Division Supervisor Sgt. Robert Gilmore.
The gunman came back to the party around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday and opened fire, firing 14 shots into the crowd with a .40-caliber pistol.
A WVU spokesman John Bolt said the man who was shot "is not currently a WVU student."
Police said the man who was shot in the back was not involved in the earlier altercation, nor did he know the people who were living in the home.
Police are looking for three suspects.
