Two Clay county men are dead from 12-guage gunshot wounds, apparent victims of a
murder-suicide. Clay police officers found 52-year-old Joe Braley dead on his
couch.
He had been shot through the back of his head, sitting near a window in his home on
O'Brien's Creek near Duck.
Clay Deputy Sheriff Kevin Delk said 20-year-old Matthew Keener, who lived in the
vicinity, was found dead outside with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot
wound.
Keener had reportedly been obsessed with Braley's wife, who was in the backyard at
the time of the shooting.
Police responded to a 911 call about 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
The Clay Communicator said Mr. Braley was employed by the Clay school system as a
computer master.
