| Marie McKown, 84, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia died July 17, 2010 at her home.
She was born November 3, 1925 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Clay and Dottie Shaffer Wallbrown.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Beech Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, and embroidery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee J. McKown in 2007; two sons, Eugene and Danny McKown; two sisters, Anna Mae Lowe and Bernice Wallbrown; and a brother, Oral Rex "Buddy" Wallbrown.
She is survived by seven daughters, Frances Greathouse of Arnoldsburg, Patty (George) Dickey of Nicut, Joyce (Paul) Newell of Orma, Sherry (Dave) Dalo of Canton, Ohio, Judy (Rodney) Schartiger of Shock, Donna (Clarence) Butler of Arnoldsburg, and Sandra (Paul) Butler of Orma; five sons, Eddie (Debbie) McKown of Sand Ridge, and James (Karen) McKown, Johnny McKown, Jerry (Barbara) McKown; and Mike (Diana) McKown all of Arnoldsburg; 41 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Burial will be in the Road Run Cemetery near Arnoldsburg.
Visiting hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
