Problems with Frontier's 'broadband' service continue.
Updates to the Herald cannot be made.
While phone service has been restored, Frontier's local Internet service remains down.
Some of the current problems likely exist because of a storm that swept through the area, but the Internet problems persist.
Frontier's 'broadband' service in rural Calhoun is available within close proximity to their local sub-stations scattered around the county.
Frontier has over-sold service to the sub-station that serves the Herald, reportedly 70 or more customers, diminishing the service to customers over old telephone lines.
While the company sells the service as high-speed broadband, it is not, and during peak usage, the speed drops to dial-up standards.
Of course, the customer pays the bill.
While local Frontier repairmen work hard to serve the community, despite company promises, there is little indication WV's rural counties will rise to 21st Century technology. |
