Gov. Joe Manchin has appointed six new members to the Glenville State College Board of Governors and reappointed three to the board, where some members had been serving illegally after their terms expired, reports the Charleston Gazette.
Some of the board's terms expired in 2007 and 2008.
Manchin's staff who oversees board and commission appointments, named new members Wednesday.
Board chairwoman, Sue Morris of Glenville, and vice chairman, Jerry Milliken of Spencer, were reappointed, along with board member Bill Hanlin of St. Marys.
The Gazette said, according to the Board of Governors website, Morris and Milliken's terms expired in June 2008 and Hanlin's expired in June 2007.
Sue Morris will continue to serve until 2012, Milliken until 2013 and Hanlin will complete his term next year.
Three board members decided to no longer serve - R. Fred Radabaugh, Marjorie H. Burke and R. Terry Butcher. Those three, according to the web site, had terms that expired in June 2009.
The governor appointed six new board members - Greg Smith of Glenville, Dr. David Tingler of Fairmont, Richard Heffelfinger of Charleston, Paul Fulks of Bridgeport, Tim Butcher of Glenville and Stan Pickens of Clarksburg.
