C. Wilson Carper, 86, of Left Hand, West Virginia, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at his home.
He was born April 22, 1924, in Charleston, a son of the late Ephriam Wade and Sophronia Belle Arden Carper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viva Bruns Carper, September 23, 1982; three brothers, Donald, Clyde and Hugh Carper; one sister, Carmen Arden.
Wilson was a retired printer and a member of the Typesetters Union. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and loved animals.
Survivors include his longtime companion and friend, B. Garnet Johnson of Charleston; her daughters, Teressa Wilson of Amma, Karla Ledsome of St. Albans and Kelli Ledsome of Left Hand; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his son, George B. "Butch" Carper of Mt. Olive; his sister, Kathleen Crislip of Canton, OH; his brother, John C. Carper of Pensacola, FL.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Michael F. "Mike" King officiating. Burial will be in the McCune Cemetery, Amma.
Friends may call Friday two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
