Old soldiers honor former VFW officer Tanner
Today across the USA, it is Flag Day.
Grantsville VFW Post 5959 set a flagpole and raised a flag at the Walnut Grove Church (Barnes Run) Saturday in memorial of their longtime member and past commander Albert Gale Tanner.
Tanner and members of the local post have been honoring Old Glory for several years in a special way, erecting poles and lifting flags at county and regional cemeteries and other public places.
