| Franklin Nichols Anderson, 77, of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Tanner, Gilmer County, West Virginia, passed away June 2, 2010.
He was born in Spencer, WV, a son of the late Clarence (Doc) Anderson and Mary Flesher Anderson. He was a former resident of Tanner and was a US Air Force Veteran, awarded the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was retired from the B&O Railroad-Chessie System with 34 years service, and was a Christian.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Anderson; a grandson, Louis Bertini, Jr. both of Chicago; a sister, Martha Buck of Ravenswood WV; a step son, Larry Wilford of Glenville WV; nephews, Steve Anderson of Akron, Ohio, and Mark Anderson of Richardson, Ohio.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Smith and Lula Belle Nichols; and brothers, Don and Georgie Anderson.
The family will receive visitors at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville from 12-noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8. Military graveside rites will follow in the Moss Cemetery at Cedarville.
