| One week after a tragic car accident on Nicut Road, Derek Westfall remains in critical condition, according to a spokesperson at Charleston Area Medical Center.
Family members told the Herald that Westfall is still
comatose, but responding to touch.
"Overall the family and doctors are very optimistic that he will recover," they reported Sunday.
He has pneumonia in the left lung and is receiving treatment for head trauma.
"It is a long wait," they said.
