George Duskey Jr., 91, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away May 23, 2010, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late George and Opal Sturm Duskey.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and served in the South Pacific Theatre. He was a former employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways.
Surviving are his former wife, Colleen B. Duskey; a son, Gaylen (Barbara) Duskey of Grantsville; a daughter, Betty (Kenny) Jones of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Gachassin (Rory) of Grantsville, Elizabeth Duskey of Charleston, Cynthia (Scott) Allman of Belpre, Ohio, and Maureen, Kayann, Julia Louise and Dean; five great grandchildren, Christopher, Madison, Kaitelynn, Preston and Johnathon, all of Belpre; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Boyd (Jim) Duskey; a sister, Doll Gillespie; and an infant son, George Howard Duskey.
Military graveside rites will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 26 at the Wright Cemetery at Cremo. The American Legion of Spencer and the Rev. John Lowther will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Stump Funeral Home of Grantsville is in charge of arrangements.
