Sarah Lucille Murphy Mick, of Sand Fork Road, Sand Fork, died at Glenville Care and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
She was born September 9, 1922, at Tomblin Run of Gilmer County and was a daughter of the late Wirt and Icie Moore Barker.
On June 4, 1942, she married Arden Lee Murphy who preceded her in death. Later she married Aubra Mick who also preceded her in death.
Lucille owned and operated the M&G Furniture Store in Glenville for many years along with Madeline Groves.
She loved children and opened her home to college students and foster children. She cared for several family members in her home. She loved to entertain people in her home and prepared many wonderful meals for family reunions and friends.
She was a member of Glenville Church of Christ.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, Wilma Canfield Dummermuth, Patsey Canfield Bell, Beverly Canfield Marks, Sharon Riffle Thorpe, James Riffle, Robert Riffle, and also Denzil Murphy and Ann Murphy Kramlick, who she cared for after the death of their parents; foster children, Harold Sturms, Brian Kramlick and Jennifer Kramlick Howell, whom Lucille thought of as grandchildren Also surviving are several great and great-great nieces and nephews, who she always loved to visit.
Also preceding her in death were two sisters and one brother, Mary Barker Canfield, Leota Barker Riffle and Stanley Barker; one niece and one nephew, Helen Canfield Hamric and William Riffle.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Evangelist Gene Miller will officiate. Interment will be in Meadow Lane Cemetery at Glenville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. Sunday.
