Welcome back to Beason. Thank you so much for stopping by in spite of the condition of the road. We often wonder if a state appointed company has written us off as a place that no longer exists.
I understand that April showers bring May flowers. But, what does all the May showers bring? I think it makes a big, muddy mess. I know I can't run out in flip-flops anymore without getting mud up the back of my legs. My flip-flops usually get a lot of use during the spring and summer. But, lately, they've just been sitting on the floor feeling worthless and alone. Now, who wants to feel like that?
Ethan had a great time on his band trip. I got the scoop on all the roller coasters including their statistics. He even looked them up on the Internet to prove his accuracy on the information. He informed me that one could see Canada from the top of one of the coasters on a clear day. So, of course, I asked him if he had seen Canada. His reply was, "I didn't know which way to look." I wanted to laugh, but, I didn't. Then, he told me that it was cloudy anyway. Anyway, I want to thank the RCHS Band, Mr. Tignor, Mr. George and the Band Boosters for allowing the Middle School Band to participate with them.
Avery has been doing very well in T-Ball this year. It seems he doesn't even have to put a whole lot of effort into it. I have noticed he has developed the "art" of chomping gum like a major league player. So, that skill is always handy to have later in life, ha-ha. I know he is looking forward to Little League next year. I'm not really sure if I am or not. I will have to get back to you on that one.
I must say that I am no longer happy with my new Internet service. I loved it because it was faster and it could handle anything. In that sense, it is great. However, the billing department is a different story. This company is very aware that rural areas need satellite. They abuse that knowledge. They care about nothing else other than money because they know we need Internet at this day and age. Anyway, I changed my billing program over to invoice rather than charge my checking account every month. Well, apparently, someone forgot to note that on my account. Therefore, my checking account got charged at least twice that I know of since then. I have called them like fifteen hundred times and they need to know the last fifteen people you spoke with just to make sure you're not making it up. So, if I were sure that Ethan wouldn't need it the rest of the school year, I would drop it in a heart beat. So, I guess I will have to just ride it out for the duration of school.
I've seen some of the Ritchie and Calhoun County prom pictures. I can tell you that times sure have changed. I've never seen so much money dropped for just one night. I realize it's a special time in a kid's life. But, when I saw some dresses that were probably more than my car payment, I think that's a tad overboard. That's just my opinion. I remember when prom was just about being with friends and the person you thought you were in love with. But, times they are a changing. I guess I should prepare myself for Ethan's future prom costs. I better start saving now.
I need to give a belated birthday shout-out to my friend Thelma. You know who you are! I hope it was a good one. We will have to get together soon. I miss you!
One of my sources say that there is a welcoming fiesta in the works for the arrival of Lester Huffman back to America. He had been in Iraq for a year I believe. We will be glad to have him back on our turf. So, welcome home Lester if I don't get to see you over Memorial Day weekend!
Have a wonderful week.
