Michael Ray "Shultz" Pursley, 55, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Eldercare Health and Rehabilitation, Ripley, from Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and had been employed at Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, and also at Picture Perfect, Spencer, as a photo lab operator and photographer.
Survivors include his wife, Robin Metz Pursley; one son, Nathan Ray Pursley of Morgantown, WV; mother, Genevieve Pursley of Spencer; two sisters, Dianna L. Sutter of Columbus, OH, and Patricia Pursley of Spencer. Additional survivors include a brother-in-law, Bob Sutter of Columbus, OH; sister-in-law, Carol Pursley of Dayton, OH; mother-in-law, Mary Metz Pursley of Spencer; brother-in-law, Vince Metz of Spencer; sister-in-law, Sharon Metz Grogg of Gilbert, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orland Ray Pursley; and one brother, Edwin Owen Pursley.
The family would like to thank the doctors who cared for Mike - Dr. Carroll Christiansen, Dr. A. Scott Sole, Dr. Irvin J. Snyder, and Dr. Hussein El-Khatib; the staff at Eldercare; and friends for their care and support during his illness.
There will be no service per Mike's request. John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
