The members of Calhoun High's Red Devil Band were overjoyed last week,
receiving a top-of-the-line "1" rating at the Regional Band Festival in
Parkersburg.
"They did a wonderful job at this special adjudication," said bandmaster
Harry Beall. "These kids are capable of doing very well."
Beall said three judges give ratings from one to five at the music event,
which is sponsored by the West Virginia Bandmasters Association and
sanctioned by the West Virginia Secondary School Activities
Commission.
"Their hard work and dedication really paid off this year," and we are really
proud of them, said Beall.
Beall said this may be the first time in several years the band has received
such an approval rating. "It has been a great privilege for me," he concluded.
