| Donavan J. Bailey, 89, of Waverly, W.Va., passed away at 9:38 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Salem Care and Rehab Center in Salem, W.Va.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1920, in Minnora, W.Va., a son of Samuel and Rose Nell States Bailey. He was a veteran of WWII, serving most of the time as a surgical technician. He received both a Bronze Star and Silver Star.
Donavan is survived by one brother and one sister, William Bailey and Rose Nell Lemley, both of Stockport, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday 10 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial at 1:30 p.m. at Minnora Cemetery at Prudence Chapel, W.Va.
