FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR REGION - Starts Sunday Afternoon

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning for Calhoun and the region.

The National Weather Service in Charleston has expanded the Flash Flood Watch to include a portion of West Virginia, including Boone... Braxton... Calhoun... Clay... Doddridge... Fayette... Gilmer... Harrison... Jackson... Kanawha... Lewis... Lincoln... Logan... McDowell... Mingo... Nicholas... Pleasants... Putnam... Raleigh... Ritchie... Roane... Taylor... Tyler... Wirt... Wood and Wyoming.

Rain amounts in excess of two inches could occur within the watch area which could lead to flash flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

Those living along flood prone small streams should monitor water levels periodically on Sunday and overnight Sunday night... be prepared to take action.
