There will be Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Phase II chute-side training on Thursday, May 6, 2010 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Dean McVey Farm in Palestine, WV.
The training is free and open to the public. Dr. Phil Osborne, WVU Extension's Livestock Marketing Specialist will be conducting the training.
Beef producers who are in a current calf marketing pool, anticipate developing a marketing group, or want to take part in a West Virginia Bull or Replacement Heifer Test are encouraged to participate.
Directions to the farm are: From Spencer, take US Rt. 14 North toward Elizabeth. Travel approximately 23 miles. The McVey Farm is on the right side of the road with a woven wire fence and double orange gates in a field that has three crosses standing in it next to the house. The McVey Farm is approximately 5 miles outside of Elizabeth. For more detailed directions, you may call the Dean McVey residence.
