William L. "Billy" Knopp, 82, of Spencer, West Virginia, died April 9, 2010, at Thomas Memorial Hospital in Charleston after a long illness.
He was born November 13, 1927, at Zona, a son of the late Henry and Vada Roberts Knopp. He was retired from Pennzoil with 33 years of service, a member of the Pleasant Valley Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia L. Kee Knopp; two daughters, Elizabeth and Howard Barber of Rittman, Ohio, and Janice L. Knopp of Washington, D.C.; a son, Steve Knopp of Clendenin; two sisters, Addie Thompson of Akron, Ohio, and Bonnie Guerriere of Youngstown, Ohio; a grandson, Rodney and Lisa Barber of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; two granddaughters, Nicole and Tom Hess of Clendenin and Amber L. Knopp of Sissonville; and three great-grandchildren, Elise Hess, Brody Hess, and Kelcee Webster.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Jr. and Paul Knopp; and two sisters, Dorothy McCartney and Addelene Hickel.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Taylor-
Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jerry Malona officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery near Spencer.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
