MT. ZION MAN ARRESTED FOR INTIMIDATION OF PUBLIC OFFICIAL

(04/12/2010)
A resident of Calhoun Homes at Mt. Zion has been arrested for intimidating and harassing a public official.

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department brought the charges against Michael Williamson, 31, of Apartment 22, after Williamson became "agitated and aggressive" toward DHHR employee Loretta Smith, a Children's Protective Services worker, and Michelle Hipp, an employee of Family Advantage.

The workers were attempting to follow-up on a complaint, investigating the welfare of children.

The criminal complaint says Williamson came at the workers in an aggressive manner, yelling and cursing, after which the workers ran from the residence, fearing for their safety.

Deputy Sheriff Carl Ballengee arrested Williamson on the charges.
