Warren Davis, 89, of Elizabeth, West Virginia, passed away March 26, 2010 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Wirt County, WV, the eighth child of the late Robert and Blanche Davis on December 9, 1920. Warren had worked at Rig and Reel, for Pennzoil and had retired from Cabot Corporation. He served in the US Army during WWII.
He was a member and Deacon of the Elizabeth Baptist Church and was a member of the Burning Springs Masonic Lodge #132.
Warren is survived by his wife, Mary Davis; daughters, Judy (Charlie) Burdette and Sharon (Pete) Young of Elizabeth; sons, Stanley (Dee) Davis of Beech City Ohio, and Richard (Beverly) Davis of Mineral Wells WV; two sisters-in-law, Opal Davis of Parkersburg WV and Gladys Davis of Lubeck WV; 7 grandchildren also survive, David, Cynthia, Lucinda, Gregory, Timothy, Nikki, and Michael; 14 great grandchildren, Matthew, Kristin, Hollie, Cole, Clay, Joe, Jordan, Eric, Austin, Emily, Luke, Cameron, Joe, and Zoe; two stepdaughters, Annabell Palmer of Maryland and Sue Nutter of Parkersburg; 3 step grandchildren, and 9 step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucinda "Cindy" Davis; sisters and brothers, Helen, Eddith, Lorene, Hilda, Harvey, Lonnie, and Arland; and one step grandson.
Visitation will be Monday, March 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville WV. Reverend Mark McCloy will officiate services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Elizabeth Baptist Church, with burial following at the Hartley Cemetery in Brohard, with Masonic Graveside Rites.
The Davis family would like to thank Camden-Clark nursing staff on the 4th floor Transitional Care for their care and support during Mr. Davis' illness.
