A bid for the construction of a new Corder Bridge at the Calhoun-Roane line has been awarded to Bilco Construction of So. Charleston for $2,630,924.
Work is expected to start on the new 40-foot wide structure this summer.
The replacement was scheduled to start three years ago.
Officials said the existing bridge will be used during construction.
The current bridge was built in 1930.
Completion is expected by June, 2011.
About one-quarter mile of access road will be built as approaches. |
