HARDMAN 'NOT GOOD CANDIDATE FOR PROBATION' - Meadows Will Be Sentenced

(03/24/2010)
James Keith Hardman, who is charged with the sexual abuse of a minor, appeared before Judge David W. Nibert in Calhoun Circuit Court for sentencing.

Attorney Rocky Holmes asked Judge Nibert to place Hardman on probation, saying he was on the lower end of an evaluation scale as a repeat offender.

Judge Nibert said, "It is my position that [Hardman] is not a good candidate for probation."

Nibert continued his sentencing to April 6.

A decision regarding the sentencing of Jennifer Meadows was delayed to April 6. Meadows was found guilty on charges of obtaining an illegal substance under false pretenses.

Meadows attorney Rocky Holmes requested probation/home confinement, but Judge Nibert denied the motion Monday, with resolution to be decided.

Richard A. Starcher, one of three individuals linked to the robbery of the Calhoun Bank at Arnoldsburg, was seeking a motion for a reconsideration of his sentence.

Judge Nibert denied his request, made by attorney Shannon Baldwin.
