Charges against Wirt County Assessor Debbie Hennen related to the
intimidation of a witness have been dismissed.
Hennen was accused of intimidating two would-be witnesses, employees in her office, in a separate investigation that commenced last summer.
Wood County Magistrate Emily Bradley dismissed the charge without prejudice, meaning it could be refiled.
The assessor was found guilty in February of altering a public record, and fined $100.
The charge was based on records that showed Hennen paid a contract worker for one day he did not work.
Hennen's attorney, Michele Rusen, says that decision is being appealed to Circuit Court.
The WV State Police in Elizabeth spent several months investigating the charge.
