Mildred K. Miller, 84, of Looneyville, West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV.
She was a Baptist and her faith had sustained her as a 73-year member of Epling Chapel Baptist Church, Looneyville. She was a Christian first, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and former cook at Man Jr. High School, Man, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Della R. Atkins, Sr. and Lona E. Monroe Atkins; husband, Brooks E. Miller; son, Raymond B; daughter, Sue Ellen Erwin; grandson, Timothy C. Erwin; sisters, Juanita Edgell and Bettie Lou Gandee; and brother, Della R. Atkins, Jr.
Left to cherish her life and memories are daughter, Judy K. Miller of Charleston, with whom she resided; son-in-law, Charles E. Erwin; and granddaughter, Pamela S. Erwin, of Man, WV; brother and sister-in-law, Harold L. and Phyllis Atkins of Belle, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the Epling Chapel Baptist Church, Looneyville, WV, with the Rev. Justin Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Epling Chapel Cemetery, Looneyville. Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, WV, Friday, March 19, from 5-9 p.m.
The family extends a special word of thanks to caregiver, Brenda, for all the tender love and care she gave to their mother. Also, a special thanks to the Home Hospice Team: Jo, Karen, Hollie, and Sharon, along with the wonderful caring staff of Hubbard Hospice House.
