Calhoun Middle/High School principal Mike Offutt spoke to the Grantsville
Lions Club last week, discussing the upcoming senior awards program and
asking the organization to sponsor it. The club donated $750 to the special
event, and will also provide labor for the event.
Vice-district governor Paul Amrhein for the Mt. Olivet club at Wheeling
presented a program on CORE 4 grants and the Lion's Eye Institute. The
purpose of both efforts is to provide eye care and specialized equipment for
those with severe vision problems. Local Lion Tom Gainer will handle
referrals.
President Ray Lahie discussed preparations for the Wood Festival and
benefit bingo for the CM/HS athletic complex.
Jim Garretson volunteered to update local information for the Lion's
website.
A request for vision assistance was processed and building issues were
discussed.
