Frank K. Chambers, 80, of Spencer, WV died March 19, 2002, at home.
He was born April 29, 1921 in Roane County, a son of the late Bailey W. and Floda
Kyger Chambers. He was retired from the Spencer State Hospital, having been
supervisor over the hospital farm, he was former owner of the dairy on Ripley
Road, was a timberman, farmer, and formerly worked for the West Virginia
Department of Highways. He attended the Clover Community Church and Otto
Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ann Barnhouse Chambers; and
several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Janice Lee Ward of Spencer, and Janet Kay
Smith of Johnson City, TN; one son, Richard Chambers of Spencer; one sister,
Eunice Wilson of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Rev. Weldon M. Chambers of
Dowling Park, FL; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer,
with the Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
