Grantsville firemen attack roaring fire
The WV Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a fire at Big Bend, according to Grantsville Fire Chief Craig Gherke.
Fire completely destroyed the house Tuesday night, with a first call to 911 at 10:21 p.m. saying "flames are coming through the roof."
Authorities indicated the house had been involved in a legal dispute.
No one was present in the dwelling, which is located beside Route 5 west of Big Bend near the Munday Road intersection.
The house had reportedly been occupied by Gary Ferrell.
It was completely in flames when the Grantsville VFD arrived.
Firemen indicated the cause of the blaze will likely be investigated.
Calhoun EMS also responded to the scene.
