| Joe Wilson, 104, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Monday, March 1, 2010, in Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after an extended illness.
He was born January 29, 1906, at Beech, Calhoun County, a son of the late Hezekiah and Sarah Parsons Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Flossie G. Blosser; stepdaughter, Carolyn Hickman; stepsons, Carl J. and Dorsey Blosser; seven brothers and three sisters.
He was a retired timber cutter and a Christian.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe J. and Edna Wilson of Spencer; stepdaughters, Gatha Greathouse of Looneyville WV and Dottie Boggs of Left Hand WV; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Daniel R. "Danny" Whited officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery, Clover.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
