He was born January 24, 1952, at Left Hand, a son of Eula Mae Nichols Goodwin of Amma, and the late Dennis Ray Goodwin. He worked as a car wash attendant at John O'Dell's Exxon. He was an outdoors person and he loved cars. He stayed with his mother and helped her a lot.

In addition to his mother, survivors include one son, Michael Goodwin of Marietta, Ohio; two daughters, Sonya Shaffer and her husband, Joe, of Spencer and Shawna Martin and her husband, Benjamin, of Huntington; four granddaughters, Brooke, Kami, Ava, and Maddie; two brothers, Steve Goodwin of Canton, Ohio, and Russell Goodwin of Amma; many nieces and nephews; and a lot of friends at the car wash.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 11, at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. David Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Snodgrass Cemetery, Left Hand.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
