Welcome back to Beason. We always look forward to your visit.

I need to send out a great big thank-you to those who have been sending the really nice email. I am so grateful to have such thoughtful readers!

A belated birthday wish goes out to Ms. Brenda Taylor. I believe it was her 30th birthday. Well, I might be off a few years. I stopped counting birthdays. What's the point? I know how "young" I am. I have found that some people think that once they hit a certain age there is some sort of dress code or behavior rules they are to follow. Not so. There is no need to break out the polyester or stop having fun because you might be over 30. You will find that very statement in Kathy's Big Book of "Rules to Break after the Age of 30". I'm pretty sure I have broken all the rules in the book. But, I have always been an over-achiever. So, I may need to expand that edition from Kathy's Big Book Library.

Get Well wishes go out to my friend (and previous partner-in-crime) Beth McCartney-Stull. She was being transported to Morgantown at the time of this writing. I am not sure of a definite diagnosis. If anyone has any additional information concerning Beth, please let me know.

Junior Taylor was released from the most expensive lodging in Parkersburg, the St. Joseph's Hotel. He is feeling better and we are all very glad he is home. Ethan and Avery were ready to go and camp out in his hospital room if he had to stay much longer.

It was nice to see Jake Huffman and his partner-in-crime Justin this past weekend. We don't get to see Jake often, so we were glad he got to come and visit. I personally enjoyed commentating on the WVU ladies basketball game. Well, actually, it was more like creating thoughts that the opposing coach might've had by the expressions on her face. It's a good thing I am not a real commentator for anything. One would only know what I would end up saying, perhaps, before giving it some thought. I have been titled a little "outspoken". I don't know where people get that from.

We got to attend a middle school basketball game on Monday night. Ethan's middle school band got to play a few tunes during the game. I was so excited that the band directors considered doing that. I think that playing during basketball games is almost as fun as playing for football games. I loved band and I really think it gives kids a chance to develop talent, learn responsibility as well as have a great time. I want to send a "thank-you" out to Mr. George and Mr. Tignor for giving the kids so much encouragement. I would also like to thank the high school band for letting the middle school kids participate in activities with them.

I have decided to close this week's article with a quote from Tommy Lee (for those unfamiliar with the name, he is a member of the band, Motley Crue). I stole this quote from my buddy Chuck. I say if it is posted publicly, then it is fair game. (Thanks for posting it, I really liked it!) Anyway, here it is. "I spent my whole life looking for myself in others, looking for them to tell me who I was. And once I let them define me, I became completely dependent on them, because without them I didn't exist." Tommy really surprised me with this quote, because like the rest of us, he has a questionable life at times.

Have a wonderful week.
