Carl E. Starcher, 68, of Coolville, Ohio, passed away March 11,
2002.
He was born September 14, 1933 in Rocksdale, WV, a son of Velta Sampson
Starcher and the late Kessler Starcher.
He was a retired inspector for General Motors in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a
U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean Era, and was a member of the
American Legion Post 15, the D.A.V. and AMVET Post 34 of Parkersburg, WV.
In addition to his mother, surviving family members include his wife, Brenda
Wilson Starcher; one daughter, Sandy and her husband, Scott Marous, of
Chardon, Ohio; one son, Mike Starcher and his wife, Shelia, of Grantsville, WV; two
stepsons, Billy Joe Thompson of Delaware, Ohio and Steve Wilson of
Parkersburg; one son-in-law, Charles Laughlin of Grantsville; five grandchildren,
Chas and Cheri Laughlin, Joseph Starcher, Scotty and Matthew Marous; several
step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and one brother, Dale Starcher
and his wife, Norma, of Painesville, Ohio.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Sheila
Laughlin.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Roush Funeral Home of Ravenswood, WV.
Rev. Darrell Johnson will officiate. Burial, with graveside military rites provided by
Ravenswood VFW Post 6669, will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation
will be held 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his
honor. Envelopes will be provided by the funeral home.
