| Chalmer "Paul" Wagoner, 85, of Big Bend, West Virginia, died January 19, 2010 at Minnie Hamilton Health System, Grantsville WV, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was a son of the late Charley and Jane Cunningham Wagoner, and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Grace Wagoner; one son, Gary Wagoner of Big Bend; one daughter, Sharon "Cookie" Haymaker also of Big Bend; two sisters, Margie Sims of Parkersburg WV and Nellie Sims of Big Bend; two brothers, Ernest and Hatzell Wagoner both of Big Bend; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a retired mail carrier with 53 years active service with the US Postal Service. He was a life-long member of Spruce Hollow Community Church in which he took an active part. He was a loving father (the very best) and grandfather, and a trusting friend to many people.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Wagoner; a granddaughter, Rhonda Lynn Haymaker; six brothers, Ora, Delmas, Ervin, Clyde, Carl and Olan Wagoner; and one sister, Leona Taylor.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, January 22 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. Reverends Carroll McCauley and Charlene Spaur will officiate. Interment will be in the Wagoner Cemetery at Big Bend.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. |
