Ben, Heather, and the girls came to visit me Saturday afternoon. It was so good to see them. The girls are wonderful.
We attended the Upper West Fork sing that evening. The Appalachian String Band performed. We loved it.
Jimmy Harold was playing. They did a great job singing "Rank Stranger". Heather, Ruby, Lea and I danced. After the sing we visited with Buddy Watkins.
We played with his little puppies and ate cabbage. Buddy and I went down to the sing a few weeks ago and it was fun also. Even though I don't know how it works. I sang "I Got a Pig in the Pen". Everyone loves to dance when they Hear that song.
Charles Haverty stopped to see Heather and family Saturday afternoon and brought the girls cherry suckers with chocolate centers. Ruby loves chocolate as does her dad.
Pauline Jarvis called me from Crosslanes, Tennessee. She graduated from Calhoun High School in 1965. She is from the Grantsville area. I didn't get her maiden name but she tells me that she and her husband were in the Upper West Fork area a lot back in the day. Her husband's, mother's name was Doney Jarvis. It was good to get a call from her.
Some time ago my friends Genie and Henry had a milk cow, they were to leave her calf on her until it was weaned. Well just as the calf was weaned and the cow paid for, Henry went out one morning and the cow had fallen over dead. He said it was as stiff as a board. They took it in stride and went on with life.
Lots of snow here in Sunny Cal and it is very cold but nothing compared to Leivasy, WV where Ben and Heather live. I went home with them Sunday afternoon.
They have icicles coming off the roof all the way down to the ground in the corners of the roof. Heavy snow up to my knees. It's too cold for the girls to go out. The roads were good on the way.
Somehow I've another cat. Big yellow one. It loves to pet herself around my legs and she lives under the house.
Blaine King and Gene Wallbrown visited after they went to Spencer. Gene needed some bird feed. Blaine has been staying at the Richard Chenowith place while its been so cold. He is watching to see if pipes will freeze or the gas will go off. The animals like it 'cause he is there.
Everyone have a wonderful week!
