Emanuel "Red" Vannoy, 85, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away December 19, 2009 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Odus and Ethel Barr Vannoy. He was a retired mail carrier and was a US Army Veteran of WWII.
Surviving are a son, John Vannoy of Mt. Zion; a brother, Hale Vannoy of Georgia; 5 sisters, Juanita Sturm of Grantsville, Pauline Dobbins and Ruth Raybuck of Pennsylvania, Wilma Freed of Tennessee, and Virginia King of Orma; 1 grandson, Travis Vannoy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Vannoy; and 4 brothers, Paul, Delbert, Harold and Oval Vannoy.
In keeping with Mr. Vannoy's request, the body was cremated. Memorial
services will be held at a later date.
