Bess L. Bush Wright, 89, of Bridgeport, WV, formerly of Cox's Mill Gilmer County departed this life at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009, at the residence of her brother where she had made her home for the last year.
She was born March 31, 1920, in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late Tip and Mima Heckert Bush.
Bess was a retired post-mistress at Cox's Mill Post Office and member of the Cox's Mill United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of Cox's Mill CEOS, Gilmer County Senior Citizens and Senior Citizens of Cox's Mill satellite where she was treasurer. She loved traveling, making quilts and working her flower garden.
She was married to Doy "Doc" Bush on October 20, 1948, whom preceded her in death December 17, 1986.
Surviving is one brother, Darrell Bush of Bridgeport WV; two sisters, Boots Tomanio of Freehold, NJ, and Joann Shedden of City by the Sea, TX. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lyle Gnegy, Helen Blackshire, Isabelle McLain, and Betty Feldman and brothers Leo Bush and Lynwood Bush.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville WV, with Rev. Alan Neal officiating. Burial was in the Alice Cemetery.
