Christmas is in the air, especially at the Armory at Big Bend. Volunteers are busy sorting toys and other items for Calhoun's Christmas Connection give-away which will occur on Thursday, December 17th.
Approved families will "shop" for toys for their children on Thursday. They will also have the opportunity to select gently used clothing.
Each family will not only receive gifts for their children, but a food basket, wrapping paper, bows, Santa shoe boxes for the adults, Christmas decorations and other items.
On Wednesday, the group will be sorting items for the food baskets.
If you want to get that Christmas feeling, just come to the Armory Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and volunteer for this worthy project. But, even if you can't volunteer, please remember the Christmas Connection when you're shopping those after-Christmas sales. The project will be storing items for next year at the Armory.
