The barriers are down and the Calhoun-Gilmer local phone connection
seems to be working well, most of the time.
After a shaky start last Friday, Frontier-Citizens and Verizon seem to have
the bugs worked out.
You'll still have to obtain numbers on your own, call information for a price,
or pay $17 to $24 for a phone book.
The new "local" phone book, which usually is published in August, will likely
have the regional phone numbers.
The good Frontier-Citizens news is .... we have some local guys who work for
them, still stationed in Sunny Cal, who do an excellent job.
