| Police are investigating leads on an unusual crime committed during the early morning hours Friday on Jesses Run, a short distance from Arnoldsburg.
It was a home invasion with armed robbery, with the home owner being assaulted and battered.
Jeremy Saunders (pictured left) said, "It was pure terror for my wife and pure anger for myself," after two men forced the door open to his mobile home about 2 a.m. while the family was asleep.
Both men, with their faces covered, displayed pistols.
"The one guy put his gun in my face, I was barely awake," said Saunders, the other man stationed himself in the doorway.
"He asked for my money, and I told him I didn't have any," after which the intruder struck Saunders on the forehead with a gun, saying, "Wrong answer."
The intruder then blamed Saunders for his resistance, asking, "Why did you have to do that?"
Saunders went to the hospital later for medical treatment.
Saunders said his wife, Susanna, said to give the gunman what cash they had, reportedly about $600.
They took wallets with ID, license, social security, bank and other document cards.
The men got in a car and went down the road.
The vehicle turned around and came back by the house, at which time Saunders said he was so angry, with blood still dripping in his eyes, he shot twice at the car with his 30.30 rifle.
State Police and a Calhoun Deputy Sheriff responded to the incident, and are reportedly following several leads.
"Never in my life could I have imagined something like this happening to our family," Saunders said.
The Saunders' 5-year-old daughter Kylee was asleep in her bedroom during the incident.
