The Mid-Ohio Valley Chapter of The American Red Cross, is proud to announce the presence of a local offices in Calhoun County.
The American Red Cross strives to offer all services available in the Wood County office, from Calhoun County's new local office. The mission is to help prevent,
prepare, and respond to an emergency in the community.
An AmeriCorps member, Barbara Allen has been chosen to work on behalf of The American Red Cross and will be trained to provide these services.
Allen is a certified CPR and First Aid instructor and will be holding classes throughout the county to help prepare the community. She will also be recruiting and
training adult volunteers for emergency preparedness and to establish youth oriented Junior Red
Cross Clubs.
Allen will promote Red Cross presence in Calhoun County. She will be contacting community
leaders, to discuss local capacity building opportunities, and encourage county residents, who
would like to participate in any capacity of The Red Cross, to contact her through the local offices
which have been graciously donated by The Upper West Fork Fire Department at Chloe and the Calhoun
County Court House in Grantsville.
