Ashley Houchin, a Junior on the Calhoun County High School Lady Red Devils Volleyball team was named to the 2009 1st team WV Class A All-State Volleyball team.
Houchin, setter in the Red Devils' 5-1 offense, set 1747 out of 1788 attempts for a 98% setting rate and recorded 482 assists. She had a 93% service rate and scored 269 service points with 76 aces. She also recorded 25 kills out of 46 attempts, 34 solo blocks and 93 digs.
She was an All Tournament Team Selection in all three tournaments played during the regular season: the Doddridge County Invitational, Nicholas County Invitational, and Charleston Catholic Irish Invitational and was recently named as a 1st team All LKC Selection.
Ashley is the daughter of Jeff and Kelley Houchin of Arnoldsburg.
