Wow. It's been a long time. I am so happy to have the mighty pen back in hand.
Are you ready for the holidays? Believe it or not, I put up some Christmas lights when we had that warm afternoon last weekend. However, I forgot to take down some of the fall stuff on the front door and the gate. Therefore, that makes me the type of redneck I've always made fun of in the past. You know the kind that has their areas decorated for 10 holidays at one time? I'm pretty sure Jeff Foxworthy could appreciate that material.
I've been a little annoyed at the court reports and the letters to the editor recently in some publications of the paper kind. Some things I just don't understand. I am not clear on why criminals are receiving mercy for serious crimes. These activities include more than just a weekly traffic stop (like some people we know). These are crimes that affect lives forever. That in itself is a reason to put these people away. It also irritates me that they continually blame their bad behavior on everything else but themselves.
My personal favorite excuse is that they had a bad home life when they were growing up. That's such crap. We all had problems at one time or another, but, most of us know the difference between right and wrong. What about the letters to the editor? Why must they be so cruel? I have no idea why the same drama continues every week. But, I do know it's time to get over it and move on. We cannot change the past mistakes, but, we can work toward a better future.
What I find interesting is that there are things that get mysteriously removed from my article and yet, this cruelty is allowed to remain. I guess my little piece doesn't draw enough readers to create large revenue. However, I guarantee that my article will never contain dirt and leave a bitter taste in your mouth. It will, however, on occasion, leave the delicious taste of Caramel MooLatte from DQ. It doesn't get any better than that.
OK, moving onâ¦Life has been full throttle lately. I've got so much on my plate. But, there's always room for a little more (especially if it's stuffing or pumpkin pie).
Last, but not least, my choice for the week is, "Dirty Deeds" by AC/DC for my partner-in-crime and other questionable activities. We rock! If you don't believe us, ask any of our fans that attend the evening show regularly. We can't help it, it's just a gift.
Have a great week, a blessed Thanksgiving and a memorable Black Friday.
