| Martha Jordan, 86, of Elizabeth, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was born December 6, 1922 in Roane County, the daughter of the late John Floyd and Della Pearl Ashby. She was a Christian by faith. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Walter (Patricia) Lawson of Oregon;
2 grandchildren, Eric Lawson and Josh Lawson; 6 sisters, Sadie Wales of Winter Park FL, Lizzie Moore of Morgantown WV, Ada Plumley of Racine WV, Melissa (Carl) Mosser of Chester WV, Virginia (Robert) Carter of Cuyahoga Falls OH, and Garnet Whited of Elizabeth;
1 brother, Emzy (Sandra) Ashby of Palestine WV; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lucy Carpenter and Freda Carpenter; 1 brother, Luster Ashby; and several brothers and sisters in law.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 2nd at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, with Rev. Dean Ash officiating. Interment will be in the Gandeeville Cemetery in Roane County WV.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 5-8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
