Neighbor Helping Neighbor is an organization comprised of local churches in Calhoun County created for the purpose of assisting individuals in a time of need.

Currently about six churches contribute monthly to a fund used to help needy Calhoun County residents.

Neighbor Helping Neighbor (NHN) was formed about three years ago and has helped many residents from every area in the county.

Our county has approximately 50 churches but only a handful participate in and support NHN.

The First Baptist Church in Grantsville has operated a food bank for many years that is supported by other churches and organizations as well as individuals.

The food bank has helped many people in their time of need with food contributions.

Part of the food banks success belongs to the many different funding sources throughout the county that consistently donate to the project.

We believe this is proof that partnering with others allows us to do more than could be accomplished individually.

NHN will have a re-organizational meeting at the senior center in Grantsville on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

We are asking that each church send a representative to the meeting.

We also invite any interested organization or individual to attend and learn about NHN.

Together we can make a bigger difference.
