Calhoun landowners that could be affected by a Goliath high-tower electric line set to cross southern Calhoun, attended a meeting Saturday at the Upper West Fork Park.

The PATH project crosses several West Virginia counties, and will affect about 70 property owners in Washington District.

It is touted as needed to bring electricity to the nation's eastern corridor, from power generated near WV coal fields.

Bill Howley, who led the local meeting, has been a leading opponent of PATH. He said several Washington District property owners have already been contacted to survey through their land.

Howley said landowners have a right to reject surveying.

Even though the project has been delayed, the company appears to be moving forward.
